My Experience
I have created Ocean State Holistic Fitness as a way to share my experience to help others increase their well-being. Establishing balance between the body and mind is something I have spent my life researching and practicing with no end in sight. I have extensive training and teaching experience in Tai Chi, Kung Fu, Meditation, Qigong, and Exercise Science.
Tai Chi utilizes the philosophy of chi (energy) and how it flows throughout the body through various energy channels and points. Chi is the invisible vital life-force that circulates throughout the universe and all living things. When it becomes blocked, pain and disease may arise. Through graceful gentle movements and breathing, the body is allowed to naturally heal itself. Tai Chi holds a special place in my heart, for it is while teaching a Tai Chi class 20 years ago that I met my amazing wife!

Drawing from the philosophy of balance from Tai Chi, I have developed a unique approach to personal training, integrating strength and endurance training with active relaxation exercises and meditation. Clients leave each session feeling energized and relaxed!
In addition to Tai Chi and Kung Fu, I have practiced meditation since I was a teenager, studying many styles, including Zen, Buddhist, Daoist, relaxation techniques, visualization, and have extensive experience translating Tibetan meditation manuals. All the classes I offer draw from all these years of continuous practice and teaching experience, allowing me to share my passions with others. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you.
